Raise a glass and your rhymes at “The Boar’s Head: UNIVERSES on Poetry,” part of the 2017 OSF Living Ideas: Art and Community Dialogue Series. Led by UNIVERSES (OSF’s Ensemble in Residence and Playwrights/Composers of this season’s #UniSonOSF), this series of workshops focuses on the UNIVERSES aesthetic, set in the birthplace of slam poetry—the community tavern.
The workshops are held at Ashland’s own Boar’s Head Tavern, Oberon's Restaurant and Bar, a unique Shakespearean restaurant and bar located in the downtown plaza in Ashland, Oregon. Participants spend the first portion of the workshop learning how the UNIVERSES aesthetic developed, explore other kinds of meter, then write their own poems. In the second portion of the workshop, participants will convene to perform their pieces.
APPLE Outlaw will be teaming up with OSF Living Ideas, UNIVERSES and Oberon’s for the workshop to provide cider tastings and will have featured ciders on tap.
The workshop is free, nonticketed and open to all.
Future "Boar’s Head: UNIVERSES on Poetry" gatherings will take place on 6/28, 7/17 and 8/21, and more #OSFLivingIdeas events exploring #UniSonOSF,#HenryIVpt1OSF, #HenryIVpt2OSF and #OffTheRailsOSF will take place throughout #OSF2017: https://www.osfashland.org/LivingIdeas
